British Food Fortnight
This is an annual two week celebration of British food and drink which began in 2002 to promote the benefits of buying and eating British produce, held on September 22nd through to October 6th this year.
Celebrations include special menus in pubs and restaurants together with numerous food and drink festivals and country fairs.
So celebrate British, from Fish ‘n’ Chips to Pork Pie to Bakewell Tart. Chips were first made in the UK in the 1860s and were almost immediately paired with battered fish. Whilst the Pork Pie originated as a snack for hunting partiers.
